Of all the art I’ve posted on the subject of women sporting crustacean hats , this has got to be my favorite so far (even outdoing Isabella Blow’s pink lobster headdress). I’m having a bit of a time finding out who this particularly lady is, but I will give the photo the credit it’s due as soon as I do.
If this didn’t make you feel better, you crazy.
Liti, This made me feel so much better.
That is one crabby lady. That must be an Alaskan Queen Crab on her head.
Hi Erica, I have just returned from La Maddalena, Sardegna this weekend. The scoop on Ricci…. very rare at restaurants because of the “ban on quantity fished”. However, locals know where to go and we were able to eat right out of shells on a boat, with a squeeze of lemon and a demitasse spoon. There is a limit of 30 ricci…. not enough to coat a lb + of spaghetti…..we did not need the extra carbs anyway! We had a wonderful trip…. four weeks… still not enough!!! Take care and let me know if you are free for get-together, cooking lessons …. refreshments…anything….mid-september or october would be fantastic. Gabriella Belvedere-Bagnato
Gabrielle,
That’s sad news about the ricci, but maybe with the ban, they’ll come back. I’m sure over fishing isn’t the entire problem though.
I will let you know about cooking classes. It’s still uncertain. Rents have gotten so crazy in Manhattan finding an acceptable and legal space has been difficult. But I’m working on it. If that fails I might hook up with a school. I’ll let you know.
Best to you,
Erica
