Fans of La Cucina Povera, my classes have ended for this semester. We'll be taking a winter break.

I'm not completely sure when we'll start up again. Probably early March. We'll be looking for a slightly classier space—although not too classy, and we'll certainly work to preserve that dark cafe atmosphere everyone seems to love, wherever we wind up. Please keep checking here for class notices. Love to all my students. I'll miss you, but we will get together again soon. Erica De Mane is a chef and food writer who specializes in Southern Italian cooking. She is the author of The Flavors of Southern Italy and Pasta Improvvisata, as well as Williams-Sonoma Pasta, which is available at Williams-Sonoma stores.
